Given the importance of agriculture in the history of Tunisia in general and the city of Sfax in particular, our association has implemented this exhibition since 2002 for the promotion of this vital area within the framework of the Tunisian economy.
Sfax, a Mediterranean city par excellence, is at the forefront of the various axes of Tunisian agriculture, 1st in the surface area of agricultural exploitation, 1st in the national surface area of olive groves (20% of the national surface area), 1st in the production of almonds (30% of national production), Sfax also ranks 1st nationally in the production of seafood products, 1st in the field of dairy production with 50% of national production.

The economy of the Sfax region offers a wide range of niches covering several agricultural sectors, including:
- The expansion of olive orchards, especially those located in irrigated areas
- The installation of olive tree seedling nurseries
- The valorization of olive and olive by-products
- Bottling olive oil, especially organic oil
- The practice of market gardening, especially early and late season
- Cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants
- Dairy cattle farming and calf fattening
- Creation of typical sponge production units
- Creation of cooling and processing units for agricultural products
- The development of slaughterhouses and meat processing
- Upgrading of agricultural service cooperative units
